Privacy Policy – Speech to Text Offline
This policy explains what information the Speech to Text Offline app ("the app") handles and how. By using the app you agree to this policy.
1. Your audio and transcripts stay on your device
- The app turns audio files that you choose into text. Speech recognition runs entirely on your device. Your audio is never uploaded.
- The app does not use the microphone and does not record audio. It only reads the files you pick or share to it.
- Transcripts, file names and your edits are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. When you share an audio file to the app, it may keep a private copy so you can play it back. That copy is deleted when you delete the transcript.
- We do not run any server, and we do not collect, view or sell your audio or transcripts.
- Text leaves the app only when you choose to: copying it, sharing it to another app, or exporting a TXT/SRT file to a location you pick.
- If Android backup is turned on, Android may include app data in your personal Google account backup. This is controlled by your device settings, not by us.
2. Speech models
The speech recognition models are delivered by Google Play together with the app, or downloaded from Google Play when you first choose another mode or language. This download contains only the model and does not send your audio or text anywhere.
3. Background transcription
While a transcription is running, the app shows a notification so it can keep working when the screen is off or you switch apps. This happens only on your device. The notification permission is used only for this progress notification.
4. Advertising
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process:
- Your device's advertising ID and app set ID
- IP address, an approximate location derived from it, and device information (model, OS version, language)
- Ad interactions (views, clicks) and diagnostic data

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads). The full version has no ads.
5. Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before showing personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time from Ad privacy options in the app's Settings.
6. Purchases
The full version is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details. The app only asks Google Play whether your account owns the full version, and remembers the answer on your device. See the Google Payments Privacy Notice.
7. Data we collect
We, the developer, do not collect, store or sell any personal data. The app has no account, no sign-in and no analytics of its own.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Deleting your data
You can delete any transcript inside the app. Uninstalling the app removes all of its data, including downloaded models, from your device.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
