Privacy Policy – Doc Scanner
This policy explains what information the Doc Scanner app ("the app") handles and how. By using the app you agree to this policy.
1. Your documents stay on your device
- Scanned pages, imported images, PDFs and folders you create are stored only in the app's private storage on your device.
- We do not run any server and we do not upload, collect or view your documents.
- Files are only sent elsewhere when you choose to: exporting to a folder you pick, or sharing to another app.
- If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android may include app data in your personal Google account backup. This is controlled by your device settings, not by us.
2. Camera and text recognition
- Scanning uses the Google ML Kit Document Scanner, provided by Google Play services. The camera is used only to capture the documents you scan.
- Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device. The recognized text is used for search inside the app and is not sent to us.
- Google ML Kit may send limited diagnostic and usage data (such as device and API performance information) to Google. See ML Kit Terms.
3. Advertising
The app is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process:
- Your device's advertising ID
- IP address, approximate location derived from it, and device information (model, OS version, language)
- Ad interactions (views, clicks) and diagnostic data
This data is collected by Google, not by us. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
4. Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before showing personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy options in the app.
5. Data we collect
We, the developer, do not collect, store or sell any personal data. The app has no account, no sign-in and no analytics of its own.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Deleting your data
You can delete any document inside the app. Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
